Top 5 Site Tips

There are many important things you need to know in order to have a successful website.

1. It's never to late to organize: This is the most important tip. To have a successful website, everything needs to be organized. Having many folders with related files inside is key. This way you will always know where all your files are.

2. Test your site in other browsers: Your site may look different on other computers. It is very important to check what your coding and everything looks like. You can go to BrowserShots.org to check. This is alot easier than downloading each browser. If some coding looks different/wrong than make the necessary changes.

3. Update Regularly: When people come to your site, they are looking for whatever your site offers (myspace content, resources, ect.) If they like what they find on your site, they will come back. When they come back, they will be looking for new content. If they don't see some new content since they last came, they may never come back to your site again. We don't want that to happen! So, to avoid that, update regularly, even if it's a new blog, or something simple, atleast they know you were active on your site.

4. Quick load: Make sure your website page loads quickly. On average visitors will leave if your page has not loaded within 15 seconds. So avoid HUGE images that may take a while to load.

5. Easy To Read Text: Make your text, a basic, easy to read size and font. If visitors can't read what your site says, they will leave. Good basic fonts are; arial or tahoma. Good sizes are: 10-12
